They will have to. With Blackout and Circus they relied heavily on the holiday season. If they had released either album in the summer with the same promotion they would have flopped terribly.

Noone can sell big numbers with no promotion during low sales period. Not even Britney. Thats why Circus and Blackout where nowhere to be seen as soon as Spring came along. The Xmas sales boom was finished and Jive had done all they could do with the album.
An artist like Britney is guaranteed a huge debut and big sales for the first few weeks but she would need to promote like any other artist to keep the album in the charts after her fans have bought it.

I think too, that she will release sometime in Spring... because, she really worked hard to get that I'm a slave for you body, which is very hard (after being mom of 2 precious children) and frankly, the new hotter Britney needs time to achieve it! Although, I always find Britney sexier than the other singers no matter if she had few pounds more... I was really hoping for a single before New Year(ahh, I remember how "3" was huge in the club were we celebrated New Year's eve), but now, I really think she'll have bigger success if she waits a bit... and so far, 2010 is not the best year in music... and 2011 will sure be! Britney, Gaga, Madonna.... it will be MASSIVE!
Can't wait!!!! Godney will slay once again!

Boy shut up. This isn't Darkchild's fat ass pressed that he won't make the cut again. If Robin Leach said he talked to Larry about her album coming in Spring, ITS TRUE. And what we've known, the sane ones at least, for a while. 
I'm thinking late January single, album at the beginning of April. Easter sales.  Promotion ALL Summer, two+ more #1 singles. AND THE BEST THING OUT OF IT ALL, new music

I still think single comes early March and album late May though.

And if we're lucky another smashing World Tour, but after the rumors we heard months ago there may not be any plans for touring with this album, I don't wanna get my hopes up.

Blackout and Circus were set for Spring, May, Summer and September releases at one point, too. Research and learn.

The first rumors of "Circus" were that it would be released on her birthday, and it was discredited at first, and it happened, either way, it was December, I never saw any rumors of Circus being released Spring/Summer, I don't remember Blackout tho...

Alexz, Circus never had multiple rumors. She wasn't rumored to even begin RECORDING until after HIMYM, and Billboard confirmed a December release in May. Larry then talked about her just "having fun" in the studio, and then Britney followed up about releasing in July's OK! saying late 2008-early 2009.
Blackout, is harder to predict. I remember a lot of rumors about her recording, producers talking about the music, etc. but never anything about the album actually coming out at any specific time. That entire era was spur of the moment.
This tweet from Robin about his conversation with Larry is the most accurate assumption. Also take in Ryan Murphy including "early next year" when he talked about hearing new music. Like I've said in the past if it ends up wrong, and they rush it out in the next 2 months then so be it. But you have to be an idiot to assume that over a certified conversation.

Stop your lying. Her court dates, HIMYM, "Break the Ice" flopping, & "Radar" video being shot in London rumors were the hype of April. There was no talk of an album being released.
