Mel got on my nerves. I get that she was feeling like she was second fiddle, blah blah blah... but she just whined the whole time. That is his child. I have a family member in a similar predicament and his baby mama is catty about it but doesn't really whine like Mel. A part of me wants the writers to keep Derwin as the father just for drama purposes. But I swear I couldn't stand Mel a lot of the time. I even sided with Janay at one point just because of Mel's crying. Plus, Mel started acting like a ****.

While Mel almost couldn't survive a minute without Derwin or her Friends financial support not that there is anything wrong with that. But until Tasha kicked her out on her ass and she stayed with Dionne who taught her how to be responsible she was a lost cause.
Mel getting her groove on was too damn good. She had Jerome, Derwin, The Doctor and somebody else. She worked all of them out. While becoming and being a doctor.
