Jeff?!??!? This is all working out so perfectly, because you were like the precedent for the next poster ...
24. .:Froggert:
You know how the biggest cliche of reality TV is that there's always someone who says "I'm not here to make friends?" Froggert was that person. A devoted Britney stan (and he was a STAN), he was not content to pall around with anyone. Why do that, when you could just make fun of everyone? And that he did.
When Froggert was on his ****, no one was safe. No one at all. He ripped you, your fave, your fave's dead brother, your grandparents, and your first grade teacher. He was also kinda racist - I can't tell you how many times he called Kelly Rowland a gorilla or some variant thereof. Suffice it to say, this did not endear him to many people. He became part of the ATRL fabric, but he was not beloved. (I loved him, though. But that changed.)
So when he posted his picture in PYP, a lot of people took their revenge. It didn't help that he had an oddly shaped, stapled head. Froggy fit the profile of a classic bully: he could dish it out, but man could he not take it. He left ATRL in disgrace.
For a while there, he would still hang around AIM, and he would always IM me. We would have the most awkward chats, and it became clear that all he really wanted was a friend.
I was going to come in and say I was surprised that Mel was so low, but I think I have the remaining 24 (now 23, thanks ATRL!) figured out (except for one which I can't decide between two or three), and I could see how she might be 25. Know this: She was easily one of the smartest people on this forum, and she could win a fight if she really wanted to, but she was too nice to get involved in such fights (well, almost all of the time ). Oh, and she was my twin, after all.
I've been watching this thread with great interest for a couple of days, and I'm interested in seeing who ends up as #1. I won't say who I think should be #1 (though I've already told one person, whoops ), but my logic for my #1 is that he was the prototype for the ATRL members you see now.
EDIT: ...Froggy #24? Really? I would have put him top ten, at LEAST. It's SHOCK TIME AT THE ATRL! /huh
EDIT #2: In all seriousness, NO ONE irritated me more than Froggy. (Yes, that does include you, Edward!) But I began to see his brilliance over time as ATRL's most loud anarchist and thought that his leaving ATRL was, in all honesty, the end of an era. ATRL has not quite been the same since he left.

There's only one truly abrasive personality in the top ten. (well, two if you count a certain avrilashantibaby).
Best Moment: Before there was Patrick, Mikal was the lone Eurovision watcher here. He still stans for his continental cheesefest!
Apparently I should get to know this guy better! Maybe he can convince me to come back to Sophie... I'm sorta done with her.
Truthfully, I'm a Eurovision poser. I only catch the occasional performance from time to time on YouTube, so I can't really claim to follow the competition.
So, by 2004, we were pretty much a chatbased community. Obviously, tens of people came to ATRL and posted, but we were pretty insular. It didn't take much to crack our little bubble, though - you could either stumble into the AIM chats, or post something so cool that someone invited you into them. I can't remember how this ... man came into our world, but I remember the hurricane he brought with him.
"Mario" was a black guy from Queens, a rap fan who occasionally used the n-word. He made fast pals with all the guys, and his cousin "Aeris" became a crush for some of them.
Then the truth came out.
"Aeris" didn't exist, and "Mario" was really Nutapon, a "bisexual" Southeast Asian boy who went to some CUNY school. He had lied, deceived us and went so far as to create a duplicate account, and post someone else's pictures in PYP - for no reason!
Do you know what happened to him then?
He became a moderator. Let me repeat that: HE BECAME A MODERATOR.
I'm still bitter.
He also became a fantastic graphicmaker, probably the best until Athens came along. He rarely posts now, but he's been a presence for so long that many of his biggest supporters don't know the fundamentals of his history.

I don't know about you, but I think that's the greatest success story in ATRL history. Someone with TWO ALIASES winds up becoming a beloved moderator.
I would say that it's possible for anyone to wind up becoming a moderator, but we have Dead Psycho to prove that that's not the case.

The two people that irritated me the most (besides Fonso) are at #22 and #21. GUESSES?!??!

NG was my favorite avatar maker as soon as I joined this site. Then Kai came.
I can't believe NG did that. It's so fun learning new things from old members.
Mel's story was so sweet. I hope it can happen again today, but I doubt it. There are very few people in this site now.
It's starting to look like Erik and Patrick won't be making it. I am disappoint
It's all good. I'm not really essential in the grand scheme of things, but perhaps there are places for Sir Erik, myself, and MrCookiepants in lists to come.
