Oricon REALLY needs to start using digital sales in their charts. Nobody even buys CD singles there anymore. Most of the public buy digitally, while CD single sales are from fanbases who want to support their fave artists chart positions.
I was curious why there was such a low number of sales recently, its because stuff is shifting to the Digital side. How are you supposed to find the sales that are not included in Oricon's database? When singles and albums are certified, Does it only count physical?

Yes it only counts physical. However RIAJ also does digital certifications for singles. It's abit hard to find exact digital sales though.
Now that, I gave it another try though. Its not a bad song. I change my mind, virgin(ha) road is better then crossroad. However, now I know why i am not liking a lot of her songs right now. I am so sick of ballads right now
With digital sales, the J-pop Diva's sales would probably be much higher compared to the numbers you gave us.
They do certify albums but digital album sales are not included only physical. However for singles there are two types of certifications digital and physical.

Oh
What a shame, has Oricon made any indication at all that they would start recording digital sales?
I'm really interested to see how Utada does with SINGLES COLLECTION VOL.2. Her popularity has faded and sales of This Is The One were low even when you include the fact it's an English album since Exodus sold over 1,100,000 in Japan.
