2 months. "RR" premiered October 20th, went for adds 27th. "Hard" leaked not too long after and went for adds the beginning of November. That's like 2 weeks.
To be honest, "California Gurls" didn't have an amazing run at the beginning. It was good, but it wasn't amazing. It took it about two weeks before it started exploding. At least on pop, anyway. Still doesn't take away the fact "Only Girl (In the World)" is doing amazing. I'm glad, especially after "Rockstar 101."

Hard was released a week after Russian Roulette. I remember when it debuted on Hot 97.
Everyone's forgetting that "Hard" was released almost the same time as "Russian Roulette" because "Hard" was for urban radio, while "Russian Roulette" was for pop radio. Unfortunately, "Russian Roulette" was a flop, which led to "Hard" also being released to pop radio about two months after "Russian Roulette" was released to pop radio.
It really was. It's one of my favorite songs from her.
