I wasn't trying to argue. I think people point out Rude Boy's use of payola because it's so apparent/obvious. Even if it never hit #1, the proportionality of Rude Boy's radio domination & it's sales are off.

Oh well, I'm glad Rude Boy was a hit, it deserved the success. I'm disappointed with its sales too, #1 singles these days should at least be able to sell 3 million.
I don't think Only Girl will be #1 in the US. It's too dance-y. I think it'll go top 20, maybe even top 10. It'll smash all over Europe, New Zealand, & Australia though.
That's obvious. There are only two ways it could not be #1.
#1. People are Rihanna-ed out between the constant radio whoring of Rude Boy and LTWYL.
#2. Britney, Beyonce or Gaga etc come out with a song that claims the top spot.
People aren't sick of Rihanna, which is obvious by the amount of interest this song is already creating. None of the people you listed are coming with singles right now, they're all, as far as I know, not releasing until 2011 now.
It makes a really good running track. I hope It does well, just not to certain about this single choice. I feel like she could have done way better.
She tried the edgy and raw sound on RR that was her at her best (imo) but certain people weren't liking it.
So I don't blame her for going back to the sound that gave her the highest selling album of her career.
And, Only Girl ***** !!! I woke up at 4am just to hear it Premiere then Ryan's flop ass decides to reschedule it a mess.
It's perfect for jogging, getting dressed, showering, dancing, popping that booty etc.
