Radio loves her, everything besides RR & R101 did pretty well on airplay. Rude Boy, of course, did amazing. Hard even did well for the hit it was. R101 wasn't doing well anywhere until the VMA promo kicked in.

All major artists use payola. That includes Beyonce, Britney, Gaga & whoever else under the sun; it's just the way the business works... The difference is that the output justifies the input in most cases. When you're #1 for 5 weeks on the Hot 100, breaking radio records, & #1 on various radio formats but can only reach 2x plat(?) then something's off.

Rude Boy disappointed digitally. But since basically everyone has used payola, what's the point of arguing about who has used it & who's not? RB never got to #1 on iTunes because things didn't work in its favor digitally. I imagine if it had actually hit #1 it could've sold a significant amount more.

No way will this perform as bad as NMT. I think it's a future #1, it definently has the potential.

I wasn't trying to argue. I think people point out Rude Boy's use of payola because it's so apparent/obvious. Even if it never hit #1, the proportionality of Rude Boy's radio domination & it's sales are off.

That's obvious. There are only two ways it could flop.
#1. People are Rihannaed out between the constant whoring of Rude Boy and LTWYL. So they don't feel the need to help make this song a hit.

#2. Britney, Beyonce or Gaga etc come out with a song that claims the top spot.
