The RIAA announced it officially Spears has sold over 100 million records making it the biggest-selling artist in the 2000s. Joining the level of Janet Jackson, Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey also sold over 100 million.
The Chop Diamond Award is given to artists who surpass the mark of 100 million albums in his career, and is delivered by the World Music Awards in existence since 1989 and is presented annually by the International Federation Phonographic Industry (IFPI).

RIAA certifies records sold within the United States, not worldwide. Britney has sold over 120 million records + Worldwide, but most certainly not in the US alone (She's certified 32 million for albums alone). That was a false report and she will not be given the Chop Diamond award yet, because she hasn't sold 100 million albums yet (records yes, albums NO). CITE your sources next time as well with a direct link to such a report.
Please be more thorough with such postings, this will really be embarrassing for the stans once the rest of ATRL vultures get a hold of this.
