Yah I guess, aren't a lot Britney/Xtina/Madonnas producers unknown?
I can't speak for Xtina's discography, but Britney has a bit of a history with relatively unknown producers. The Outsyders, Neptunes and Bloodshy & Avant produced before working with Britney, but her projects with them really helped to give them prominence in the music industry and give them names... so to speak.
