well, according from this OFFCIAL market release from black ground in 2001, both of aaliyah's first two albums have sold enough to be certified gold in Japan. But they were NEVER certified for it.
do you realize how many albums that were/are never certified for the amount they SOLD?
Certifications are sales foolery.

Honey even though they may not have been certified you still can see how much they sold because the IFPI doesnt sit down and write out every certification they takes sales from all of the countries and give it a total of what it sold overseas.
America does the same thing except we use Nielsen Soundscan here.
