Yup... the numbers posted by her official website (via her label and by 99% of labels) are usually shipments (aka the LiveNation numbers). MJDangerous's numbers are probably closer to actual sales, although technically those are still shipments. Do the single sales include digital sales for all singles do you know?

No, my first time seeing it.

The single sales are sooo wrong, and album sales partly are. "Oops!" has passed the 20 million mark and "Blackout" sold 2.279.300+ and "Circus" 3.386.500+. And "In the Zone" is between 9 and 10 million, and "Britney" close to 12. And "...Baby" should be at 25 million (30 million shipments). They are probably right only bout "Greatest Hits: My Prerogative" and I'm sure "The Singles Collection" sold more, there was an article floating around, I'll try to find it tomorrow.

The Circus and Blackout numbers have never been updated for some reason...

If you add up the known sales of each of these albums there's no way they even come close to those amounts.

Actually, ringtone sales are still very relevant. In some countries, ring tone sales actually count towards the charts and are even more important than iTunes sales.

Maybe I didn't get my point across very well.

My point was that you shouldn't disregard ringtone sales. They count very much as music sales WW. It's just as important as music download sales. So when people say Circus has sold 5.8 million WW, then that is that. Doesn't matter if ringtones are included. So those initial sales Duca posted which came from IFPI are absolutely correct.
