Outrageous is a fantastic song, I do prefer the remix though.
But IMO the singles for ITZ were a bit of a mess, they left some real gems behind
It could have been so much more successful whether Britney had hurt her knee or not, they could have waited a while then done videos with considerably less dancing. Sadly for me the fact that ITZ only had three singles was a warning sign, thankfully she's come back from that now.
I love the single choices for In The Zone. All amazing. And the planned singles, "Breathe On Me" & "Boom Boom" would've topped it off. Typical era was 4-5 singles anyways, so it's not like we would've gotten much more.
And Britney really wanted a break for personal life, despite it being with K-Fed, so it was deserving. We got the GH anyways, and "My Prerogative"/"Do Somethin'".
All the songs from ITZ deserved to be a single to be honest, but she ain't no someone I know. Boom Boom got some promo performances and it was supposed to be a single next to Outrageous, that's what I heard
I think if Outrageous wasn't picked as a single, she probably wouldn't have had her big breakdown.
She would have been kept touring, because she would have never did that thing to her ankle.
And then, she probably wouldn't have been with K Fed because she'd be way too busy and we all know what happened next.
But I'm glad that happened, Britney got 2 beautiful boys outta it and got a chance to start over again.

The Junkie XL remix is soooo good.
And like others are saying, the 3 official worldwide singles we got were perfect. The problem is they stopped working on the album too soon, at least 2 other singles should have been released. I get the Britney's knee accident was the problem, but it still bugs me to see so many great tunes not having the chance of smashing.
It's not like she could have continued to promote the album properly after this:
Exactly.
The era was already more successful than Britney, sans album sales which were down anyways. The singles we got all performed extremely well in US & worldwide. The tour did great before it's cancellation. It would not have made sense to hold off promotion, for weeks/months due to her surgery & recovery, and then pick back up on it. It wouldn't have done much more, especially sales were down anyways during "Outrageous" release. Limited dancing/bare promotion would not have been necessary.
Perfect era for me. And we got the Hits album to compliment her career, before Kevin became a staple. OF COURSE, more promo/singles would've been appreciated...but no point in complaining about something that wasn't bad anyways.
Honestly, i don't think this era is going to start anytime soon. We haven't seen Britney going to a gym or a dance studio in some time. I highly doubt, she'll start the new era with her current body. I hope we get this body back.
