-Catchy, memorable hook
-Acceptable verses (both in lyricality & memorablility)
-It has to stand out (which would be why it would get to #1, above all other songs, in the first place)
-Makes you want to express some type of emotion/action
Gawd, do I love fashion from the 80's. It was everything.
The fashion is/was epic. Neon pants, Fedoras, Druken Bed Hair, The Cigs they always kept in their hands but never smoked, Lift-Up Glasses, Faded Jeans etc.
Plus, most of my favs were born in the 80's !!!

You know what songs make me happysad and nostalgic?
They remind me of my childhood, and more directly LiLo's The Parent Trap. When I tell you I was obsessed with that movie, I mean it. I watched it nearly every frigging day when I was like 7.
My mom thought I was in love with Lindsay If only she knew! I watched the original Parent Trap, but it wasn't the same.
