But it's true that you can't have it easy and be the top diva. Look at Mariah. The only bump in the road was the 2001 breakdown, which was minor compared to what other women went through. She's back, but she's not really back, always teetering on the back of her last single. She is not a legend because she is still trying to compete with women little more than half her age. She has always had the numbers, she had always been consistent up to Glitter, and this is where she is today.

I think Beyonce is one of the greatest divas of our time, all time is a bit extreme, like you can't pick one diva and say she's the greatest of all time because there will always be someone who will replace her soon!

But the VMAs are also a pretty good representative for what's hot in popular culture, music wise.

Did Britney really win 3 VMAs in 2008 because "Piece of Me" was a masterpiece? No, she won because she made one of the best comebacks in recent music history and MTV felt she deserved to be awarded (no shade to Britney).

I think the defining moment I'm talking about is when everything comes together: musical output, popularity, and visibility.

The closest Rihanna has come to that is with GGGB era. I think she's capable of a defining moment as well as Beyoncé

For me Rated R is better than IA...SF (oh well I'm biased here because I have always hated IASF since Single Ladies and IIWAB leaked, HAlo made me think again though) because is a more personal album.

Her "Piece of Me" wins were purely sympathy at its finest. She didn't make a comeback until after those wins, and her comeback wasn't THAT huge like say Tina Turner's, TLC's or Mariah Carey's.

What difference does it make if I prefer Britney and Rihanna to Beyonce? Why is my opinion any less because it differs from yours? Because you know I'm right and you disagree?

I liked the album when it first leaked and then it got incredibly stale. The "I Am" side is so pointless and the "Sasha" disc is watered down stuff that she's already down, which I can understand since all she really wanted to do was the "I Am" disc.
