Why should you have to hide who you are? While it can be extremely painful to expose your parents' weakness (what if they say they don't love you anymore because you're gay?), at least you'll know who they really are. You'll know who cares for you for who you really are, and who doesn't. And I'd hope that any parents would love their children unconditionally.
In other words, it would suck to pretend for the rest of your life. It sucks to live a double life.
