This is, as they say,
by design. Two reasons. 1) Seems like half the time at least one of those threads was taking up that space. 2) These threads are unmoderated, and they have potentially NSFW material, so it's not good for our visitors if we essentially advertise that stuff at the top of every page.

Can someone tell me how they managed to embed an autoplaying video into an ATRL thread? That's not even supposed to be possible. If someone can do it, post it here in this thread.
