I wouldn't call Katy Perry a household name just yet. I think household name refers to someone who everybody and their parents knows and could put a face to (Britney, Beyonce, etc.).

I'm sure you could ask a lot of 45+ year olds who Katy Perry is and they might have no clue.

OH MY GOD! How could they come up with this estimate? Just based on instinctive prediction? HDD usually predicts 1st week sales after accumulating 1-day tally.

There are always early predictions, we just don't always hear about them UNLESS it's a shock. Same happened with Circus, it was said industry prognosticators thought it would only do 300k when the 400k+ p/d came out, of course ending with 505,000.

I'm honestly SHOCKED....if she did north of 700k, that would seriously kill me.
