That's not exactly accurate.
Before the official press release we had nothing official on an album or even single release. Rumors about a new album existed since the 1st How I Met Your Mother appearance, ok - But even when Britney gave that interview in June/July talking about 'My Baby' we barely knew anything except that, according to Britney, the album would probably be released in "6 to 9 months".
I mean, I know the wait is killing all of us, but I think it's normal considering Jive's and Britney's team last decisions... We're not gonna get anything official before late August IMO. Although I'd say that, if by the end of September we don't get any news, it's gonna be safe to say the album won't be released until 2011.
