But I understand how the new GaGa is leaving fans of bubblegum pop perplexed. We've never had a pop star quite this bold and outré.
Calling me a fan of bubblegum pop is laughable, but I'll look past that.
Get back to me when Gaga actually manages to create music that isn't overproduced, completely commercial pop music. Her image may promote her as some "artistic genius", but an image is only half the battle. I'm sure for her next era she'll just discover some great movie like "Mulholland Drive", milk every scandalous detail of it's artistic value and pass it off as originality.
I'll leave it to far more talented female artists (Florence + The Machine, Karen O, ect..) who can create music that equals (or even exceeds) their image.
Don't get me wrong, I'll always have a soft spot for what Gaga used to be. But let's not go around pretending her music is anything it's not.
i love the old and the new. the bad romance music video is what turned me into an obsessed fan so I guess I like the new a bit more. she'll most likely change again for the next era. i hope she stays away from short hair/wigs though!
And Bad Romance >>>>>> any Fame video/moment. That's one of those instances where you can truly ask, WHO ELSE?
Hands down. I became a fan at Poker Face, but I became a stan at Bad Romance. Bad Romance and Poker Face were her two best videos in my opinion because they enhanced the song and didn't take away from it (cough cough Telephone and Alejandro...). Bad Romance is one of my top songs of all time. It's going to be a classic

That doesn't even make sense. When has Gaga ever taken a single movie/theme and "milked" it?

First of all, those people are both in bands which is kind of different (especially since they don't make outright pop music). And Florence + The Machine have had one good album, but let's not pretend their music output is that bold or that "their music is anything it's not"
Well, I was a huge fan of her in the Poker Face era. I loved Just Dance. I used to ***** LoveGame and Paparazzi. But then she suddenly disappeared for a minute (Between Paparazzi and Bad Romance) and something changed. I forgot about her and stopped loving her as much. But then she released Bad Romance and I fell in love again, but then after Bad Romance, I started liking her less and less everyday. I stopped liking her in Alejandro.

Your post is so beyond ludicrous, I wonder where to begin tearing it apart.
Let's start here:
You loved the original GaGa, but not the new GaGa because she's too overproduced and commercial now? You do realize that what the original GaGa did was highly commercial, right? You do realize that a song like JUST DANCE is far more commercial and far less risky than a song like BAD ROMANCE, correct? You first hear JUST DANCE and you think, slam-dunk smash. You first hear BAD ROMANCE and you think, hmmm I wonder how the public will respond. You're making it sound like The Fame era GaGa was putting out Sade-type music.
Regardless of what you may think about their merit, songs like BAD ROMANCE, TEETH, SPEECHLESS, DANCE IN THE DARK and SO HAPPY I COULD DIE are far less commercial than most of the tracks on The Fame.
Your commercial argument makes not a lick of sense. It is a fail of epic, Biblical, Red-Sea-parting proportions. GaGa has always been squarely commercial, and if anything she's taking more risks now. Which brings me back to my original point: you are confused by the fact that she's a pop star who has strayed away from happy, bouncy, let's-have-a-slumber-party bubble gum music that typifies every other female pop star of this generation.
Oh, and you don't have to randomly namedrop edgy indie flicks to seem cool and well-versed in arty film, I've seen every David Lynch movie so you're not impressing me
It's fine that some people don't like the new GaGa, but let's be honest about your reason: how can a woman make pop music that isn't pink, glittery, fun, cute and happy

Couldn't have said it better myself.
And I think you left her 'Speechless' (to stay on topic)

IDK why you even bothered with that confused thing. She has Ke$ha in that list of people she'd stan for in her signature.
