All countries teach it according to the way they want to.. in some countries, they never lost anything.. as a way to form a sense of nationalism and superiority over other countries; America is guilty of this too i'm sure.
Where I live we don't have African Amercian History. The only black people we learn about in our curriculum are activists like Malcom X and Martin Luther King.
I can't believe you don't have a full year of AA hist. So much history is from them in America, I think it is necessary to teach it

I Live in Florida, this state for the most part is Conservative..
I am going to school for MA in Elementary Education, God knows what the curriculum is down here.. I know that some parents still teach their kids about the confederates and how they supposedly won..
I find it funny when I come across confederates down here.. I'm from New York, so, none of that stuff is really boasted.
I like you as a member but I think Europe is still Europe because we helped save y'all from the Nazis. Without our nation's help you would either not exist, or be speaking German right now. Let's just leave it at the US has helped Europe, and Europe has definitely helped the US.

It's sad that the state I live bareley covers black history. It is one of the most conservative states in the country.
I know a lot about African American history, though because I read books about famous black people, the Harlem Renaissance, The Civil Rights Movement, etc
