The point is, we didn't need Europe at all to start our own civilization, and that's exactly what we did. We fought of Great Britain and started our own lives. Today is just a day to commemorate our struggles during that time period

I like you as a member but I think Europe is still Europe because we helped save y'all from the Nazis. Without our nation's help you would either not exist, or be speaking German right now. Let's just leave it at the US has helped Europe, and Europe has definitely helped the US.

Yes the US helped during the war, but so did many other countries. And the truth is that the US turned up with help very late, and that was only because Japan attacked them, not because they wanted to help, yet many Americans like to take responsibility for 'saving europe'. That's the only thing that irritates me a little.

Actually America wanted to help, but they didn't want to seem like hypocrites. Why would they want to stop discrimination against Jews and minorities in Europe during the Nazi era when they were doing the same thing to Blacks in America?
