It's questionable. Gaga could end up ahead of Alicia in the end, for one thing, and obviously the other three came out long before the album market collapse. The Fame selling 10m+ in 2009 is quite a bit more impressive than the numbers that Avril/Dido put up in their times (consider also the 40m+ in singles sales Gaga has pulled in).
Norah is very impressive, but she's not also a singles artist. You can make the case that Gaga has dominated the music landscape (well, pop at least) to an extent that no debut artist has since Britney. It goes beyond a simple comparison of album sales (which doesn't take into account differing markets) into the question of cultural ubiquity /buzz.

The Fame is still at 9.8, so please explain that "The Fame selling +10 M in 2009, and number two, Alicia and Avril released a normal amount of singles...Can you imagine their numbers with 8 singles and re-releases?

How is that irrelevant?

& GaGa has outsold all their total in just 1.5 eras, so I think that that shows how HUGE she is right now and how Britney was the last artist to be this big, as Rainman said

That if Duca's numbers are accurate then she has sold more records than any of them.
Yes the majority of her sales are digital but we're in a digital age, that's just the way it is

12.5 + 40 = 52.5
52.5 > 50 > 45 > 40 > 30

No, actually, it's at 9.98m, and will undoubtedly be selling 10m+. And 2009 was when she broke on to the scene, so you rather well know my point.
I don't know how much Alicia/Avril would have sold with re-releases. Then again, I doubt either would have been able to derive so much success with a re-release since it doesn't seem as though re-releasing has been so lucrative in the past (I can think of GGGB and TFM).
If this was 2000, I think its entirely possible that The Fame would be at 20m WW, if her massive singles sales are anything to go by.

Avril: +30 M albums, and more than 7M from just Girlfriend, i doubt those numbers are right.
And stop playing, TFM is her 2nd album.

That's because GaGa's "re-release" was basically a new album. Next.

Mathematically, her album sales would be at 16,8 million...
but if it was 2000, I'm 99% sure her album wouldn't be re-released...
and she wouldn't have 40 million singles sold, FOR SURE!

That makes no difference here.
GaGa's 52.5 with 2 albums > their lower numbers with more albums

I was wrong about the "diamond" certification, but I can't edit the title.
You CANNOT compare this to, say, Alicia's debut, when album sales were much stronger and illegal downloading was nowhere near its current catastrophic state.
For an album to reach 10M in this day and age is nothing short of AMAZING. Now couple that with the fact that the artist has also sold a stupendous number of singles, and all I can say is:

Gaga would be at the same level of Rihanna's GGGB without the second album.

Over 25 million of those singles sold just in the U.S. alone

One thing is clear. Gaga has sold 40 million singles because they cost 1 dollar now. Before singles used to cost 5 dollars so not everybody spent their money on them. But she's huge nonetheless.

Exactly, i was about to say that.
You cant compare 0.99 cents to 5 - 20 dollars.

Another thing that's clear is that people don't even spend that "1 dollar" on singles anymore considering everything is easily illegally downloaded
