Why is Queen of Pop and Pop Queen being thrown around?



Honestly, the term Queen of Pop and Pop Queen is being thrown around now-a-days as if it were the easiest title to gain.

I understand that the pop industry is the genre with the most newcomers and the easiest to get into, as well as the one that is the most dominated by females.

But really if you go on MTV.com or Fuse.com they throw around the term Queen of Pop, Pop Queen, Pop Goddess, Goddess of Pop as if it meant nothing.

In a technical and political world, there should only be one King of Pop and one Queen of Pop, until either passes away. And since Michael has died he will always be the first King of Pop. But in all honesty, Madonna holds the crown for Queen of Pop. She made all female pop stars what they are today.

And honestly, there can be as many Pop Princess' as people can shove up their asses, but it seems as though the original Pop Princess should be Britney. Janet nor Cher (who both came before Britney) had only a slight impact on the music/pop culture industry. While Britney somewhat revolutionized pop music and somewhat revived it.

Madonna came along and she created the anti-Madonna's (Courtney Love, anyone?) and the Madonna-clones.

Britney came along and she created the anti-Britney's (Pink and Avril) and the Britney-clones (Christina, Jessica, Mandy, etc.)

Now, I know people will hate me for this - and I hate myself for saying this, but Gaga has come along and she created the anti-Gaga's and the Gaga-clones.
So honestly, I think that the Queen of Pop thing is thrown around wayyy too often and wayyy too easily.

The King of Pop will always and undisputedly be: Michael Jackson.
The Queen of Pop by significance and influence is: Madonna.
And the past, current, and forever Princess of Pop is: Britney Spears.
While, sadly (I'm killing myself inside) the current Princess of Pop is: Gaga.

Does this whole Queen of Pop and blah blah blah stuff, somewhat annoy you guys?

Come to think of it, I actually don't want them to leak the Britney track. What if it was meant to be the first single or something? I just don't want to risk the chances of this song not being on the album. I would rather wait until the release of the album.

you aren't true fans if you support a leak for the upcoming album, We all need our britney fix, and i don't mind it when all demos and old songs leak. But stuff from the upcoming album thats a no no!
Plus what if its really good and it doesn't make the album because it leaks.

I don't need anyone telling me **** about being a "real fan", so you can sit with that, please. vamp's post was what I originally thought when I got the link (about not wanting a leak) but didn't think it'd hurt to post here since it's already all over Britney's biggest forums.

No one's forcing you to do it. And I don't agree with that anyways, a lot of fans are just too excited to wait sometimes. You've all done it by illegally downloading comeback singles and albums before release dates. You're not a "true fan" because you didn't wait until release date or iTunes release?

Just because iLeaks say it's from her upcoming album doesn't mean that it is, they say that about nearly every song they leak, even if it's years old, to make people want them more

Rico, I was very happy that you posted the link but after thinking about the harm it could do in the long run, I decided to unfollow ileaks in hopes of them not leaking it. (it was a personal decision) I know they will eventually leak it - I just hope it's something unreleased and not from the upcoming album.

Just look at Exhale. The members over there are trying to promote this like crazy. I'm neither for it nor against it, but gd knows we all need our britney fix. :x

I know i am dubious if it is actually of the real album. Because that would mean they have pratically completed the album have the tracklist and all that stuff and it must be farley close to its release. I doubt it will make the album if it leaks now.
