As long as we know which tour people prefer to go too, is what really matters.

That might not be the case actually, "Gross" and "Profit" are different things. This is probobly a list of money that directly goes to artist's pocket after all the expenses like stage, manager, dancers, logistics etc. Therefore new artists and people who charge people a reasonable amount (Lady GaGa, Pink etc. tickets cost like 1/4 of Lip Circus ) tend to profit less even when the gross is equal. Still list doesn't seem accurate though.

Someone's pressed.
Anyways, this is a music industry. You are supposed to make profit. And their tours were lower than 95% of the touring acts in these type of list, because some labels are smart. If fans are too poor to see their favorite, OH WELL.

Janet woulda been up there if the entire European leg of the "All For You Tour" weren't canceled. She had already made 55,000,000 in grossing from the tour without it.

There is a difference between making profit and ripping fans off with ridiculous prices.

Happy for her, wish her the best ^^ If some people are stupid enough to pay that much for a show then that's their choice Don't even get me started with all the lip synching, half-ass dancing and all... And also from Top 25 Tours of 2009:
5) Pink
Total Gross: $102,878,271 Number of Shows: 131
Total Attendance: 1,550,026 Number of Sell-Outs: 69
7) Britney Spears
Total Gross: $94,813,948 Number of Shows: 70
Total Attendance: 1,097,229 Number of Sell-Outs: 61

now don't make me hate pink because of unreasonable stans... i loved them both(britney and pink) but your receipts are all WRONG!!!
her tour gross more than that by the way as billboard only computed brits 70 out of 97 and most of that came from America and from 2 cities from australia(i think) and europe was completely omitted from the list...
STAY PRESSED...

Boo....update those outdated receipts. Here are some numbers for you to sit and mediate on.
1. $311.0 million: U2
2. $226.6 million: AC/DC
3. $167.0 million: Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band
4. $137.7 million: Madonna
5. $131.8 million: Britney Spears
6. $105.2 million: Coldplay
7. $103.5 million: Pink
8. $101.0 million: Depeche Mode
9. $96.6 million: Jonas Brothers
10. $89.1 million: Metallica

Even with 23 dates from P!nk's tour missing from the final European Leg wouldn't be no way near enough to pass Britney up. You tried and you FAILED!! Thanks for having Brit on your mind while she's on vacation.

I didn't claim Pink's grossed more, just meant to show the difference between attendances and like you also mentioned this one also lacks several dates (26 actually and note that her average gross is $1.3m per show) Britney Spears was just an example of overcharging artists.
Funny how you had to ignore ticket price and show content comparisons Anyway Pink's a stadium act now, up there with legends where Britney and her rich, delusional, obsessed, pre-teen drama queen stalkers are nothing but irrelevant so let's keep it cute
I'd like to know how this list is compiled cos I read this too:
...The result is a show that packs an arena-sized punch but fits into 12-trucks. The Britney [Spears] tour is 30 trucks and doing the same sized venues,Young says. Regardless of whether it's a good show or not, we're doing a third of the number of trucks and still delivering a quality show. In today's economic environment, it's a very important factor. Into 12 trucks fits a carnival-inspired set, giant inflatable evil clowns, trapeze equipment, a double bed, a chaise longue, custom-built HD screens and enough production to support a live backing band, a troupe of dancers and a star who also likes to take a turn solo with an acoustic guitar.
And having plotted Radiohead's eco-tour of 2008, Young says that while the Funhouse Tour might not be going to such extremes, keeping it compact has environmental benefits. This tour won't be documented on its carbon output, but having less trucks has less of a negative effect, he says.

Let me see...
Quote:
The tour was the 15th most successful tour of 2006 grossing over $38 million dollars, although this figure does not include the gross for 2007 during which 44 shows from the tour took place. The total tour grossed almost $100 million dollars.
|
It grossed LESS than Amy Winehouse's tour (#15)... that's why it's not on the list.

1.Show the difference between attendances? Pink has done nearly 2x as many shows as Britney, but still hasn't grossed more than the Circus Tour.
2. P!nk is not averaging no 1.3 million per show. What math are you using? Just from the Billboard numbers that counted 131 shows, P!nk grossed 102,878,271. Last I checked, 102,878,271/131 = 785,330.31 (rounded up to the one-hundredth). So that means P!nk averaged $785,330/show, not 1.3 million. Britney however does average a little over 1.3 million per show. 2 Funhouse shows = 1 Circus show
3. P!nk toured for Funhouse 154 shows and Pollstar counted for 133 shows with their numbers....that's 23 shows away from the complete Funhouse Tour dates. (and you call yourself a P!nk stan )
4. Oh and hon...Britney's been touring stadiums since 2002 and have sold them out. We'll see how P!nk fares in the stadiums.
I'll give it to you...you tried your hardest, but FAILED so miserably!!!
