Sis this movie took years to get picked up. The original musical genre is basically dead and nobody wanted to touch this.

It's a MUSICAL with UNKNOWN SONGS that took almost 10 years to make, of course everybody feels really accomplished with the fact that it finally happened and that it's getting all the acclaim.
Also, you should watch it again 'cause that's not what the movie is about, but whatever.

Moonlight could pull a 12 Years A Slave/Spotlight and only get Best Pic and something else.
La La Land is clearly shaping up to be the biggest winner of the night and COULD give Emma the Oscar. There are some technical awards where it will SLAY.
