The category is Comedy and Deadpool is a GREAT COMEDY FILM. Is the story generic as ****? Yes. Does it have a bunch of superhero cliches? Yes. That's irrelevant. The movie was clearly made to make you laugh and it does that.
Did it deserve the award? No. The nomination, however, is great recognition.
