It's not me being a "hater!!1!" but me wanting her actual personality to shine instead of this fake image she feels compelled to put out for sales/image. I don't think there's anything wrong with that.
Anyways, last post of base I have to say:
Speak Now > Red > Fearless > 1989 > Taylor Swift
Dear John, is the best song of her discography.
I might be the first stan to drag her but I'm probably one of the most loyal fans she has hihi

THIS TEA BURNED MY MOUTH
I don't think the "quirky, cutesy, adorkable" aspects to her personality are fake. I believe Taylor genuinely has that side (key word--side) to her and always has. Also look at what phases she had in her image and songs (like her princess/Fairytale era) were things she actually was into and being the brilliant business woman she is, incorporated that into her overall marketing. Taylor is that girl but that's not all of who she is. The second part is what haters and critics take issue with and pointing that out isn't hating. Its being honest about our fave.
Where I think the disconnect comes from and why she gets called fake is that that side she chooses to exaggerate, play up and promote those parts of her personality and doesn't show, at least to the Gee Pea, the darker sides to her personality though she never necessarily hid/hides those aspects. She just never fully incorporated them into her overall persona or made them as dominant as the "cute, relateable and dorky" parts.
Its becoming a problem the older she gets which is what I'm getting through these comments and the gist of what "The other side" finds disingenuous about her. Because she has a dark side too. Not just in how bitchy she can be at times, but Taylor has a very dark, dry wit and sarcastic humor. She is cutthroat and intelligent and calculating but imo that's a good thing in this business. In addition to being sweet, friendly, and bubbly. The darkness contradicts the light even though both exist in her.
And not to go here but this is why Blank Space is so fascinating to me because despite what she says, you cannot tell me everything about that song or lines is satirical. I mean isn't the nightmare/daydream line her favorite out of all her songs? If there wasn't some personal truth to it, it wouldn't be

Ps
this is my favorite interview of Taylor ever. . Her dark wit is on full display and she so funny, cutting and snarky but still manages to be charming and charismatic. Its so good! But its pretty rare she shows this side but I love it. When I first saw it I was like whoa who is that but I prefer this to her "Ellen" types of interviews.
