Adele is at 72M with 3 solo albums whereas Beyoncé is at 81M with 6 solo albums + 3 Destiny's Child albums (that were included in Bey's total for some reason).... Adele has an average of 24M per era, while Beyoncé has an average of 9M per era (counting DC). Meaning Adele is wayyy above all the other pop girls and Beyoncé is on Taylor/Britney/Rih/Gaga level.

The difference is Beyoncé is 20 years into her career and still more successful than some 10 years into theirs (for some reason).

Billboard tracks US sales, not worldwide. Poor you.
Will there be an all-time female list using the same method?
Adele is now in the top 11-15 range I believe. With her next release she will likely become the first female that debuted in this century to enter the top 10.
Apparently music videos were actually more expensive than albums back then. MJ and Madonna benefit the most from those. I say as long as it monetarily makes sense it's fair. I think he's done a great job on this.
