I think their popularity has definitely dropped. Its not just the timing. The rise of Twice, GFRIEND, Blackpink has drowned them out just like how AOA drowned out other girl groups when they became popularity. Girl group popularity is so impermanent; only GG, 2ne1 and Sistar have been the only ones to hold on for extended periods of time in recent years.
But definitely they got caught in a perfect storm with Goblin OST and IC. But its not like any of those songs are hitting the roof and stuff, if AOA was anywhere near their previous popularity they should be at least Top 5.
