I love both Ariana and Miley so damn much and this debate between them is so pointless. As a whole career, yes Miley is bigger than Ariana but Smilers forget that Ariana's just been in the industry for almost 4 years and Miley debuted in 2007 (2006 is more accurate), like almost 10 years ago.

It has been Ariana's time since 2014, and tbh Miley was so much bigger than Ariana's first few years when Hannah Montana was aired. All said and done, Ariana is catching up and about to surpass Miley (okay Miley hasn't released a pop album since 2013, it's not Ariana's fault!), the amount of hits Ariana is achieving don't lies.

The complete overestimation for Ariana and underestimation for Miley lmao. Where are you getting 27 singles from? Or a Christmas album? Ariana has 20 singles as a lead - five of them are Christmas singles and really shouldn't count, one of them is literally sung in Italian and again shouldn't really count, and another is a digital release from her Broadway days. So basically, she only really has 13 singles in her main discography. Miley has 15.

Also, it's not Ariana's fault she can release a lot of singles per album. Miley always ended up flopping by her second or third single and couldn't release any more.

All of these are hits of their own merit, and great songs. PITUSA was a huge radio hit and some of its success is probably due to its faux-patriotism (since the song was originally written by Jessie J for her debut). WCS and WB were part of a massive, controversy-filled era. None of the other new pop girls have had a controversial era yet. Before Bangerz, she was pretty much on the same level as Selena and Demi, just with a big hit to her name.

It remains to be seen if Miley can pull off another successful era. She's only had one major-label album.

People have to understand that Miley isn't in an era releasing singles right now, so of course all of her songs aren't going to be charting on iTunes. And although Miley has had a longer career than Ariana, she has literally only released barely like 2 singles off each of her 4 albums under her name.Shen gets tired of her eras quickly and moves on. And they were her choice, not because "she flopped" and couldn't release anymore.



At the end of the day, Miley has always been, always will be, more iconic, a bigger household name, have more star power, and just bigger overall compared to all these other "ex-acts".

Helped by the Hannah Montana movie... which IS Miley. Thank you for proving the point that Miley's brand is so strong that she was even able to make a dated schmaltzy ballad a huge smash.
