Most Americans associate Islam with race / "inherent" characteristics no differently than the ways White/European Jewish people have been racialized over the years.
When you have brown Sikhs being attacked in the US for "being radical Muslims", then yeah, the critiques are vapid, fraudulent and race-based.
Again, I'm not European, so I won't speak on the tensions in Europe, but it's obvious most people on here who say things like this are Europeans who have no clue how Muslims are treated and racialized in the US.
The bias is there. You have to recognize that. The bias is inherently racist because Muslims have been othered as another race in the US for the majority's brownness and while, even if based on truth, the criticisms of the people are coming from a biased place, especially since most Americans only deal with liberal Muslims on a daily basis who do no harm to them.
