1989 sold about 4M outside the US and both SIO and BS were global hits. Lemonade sold about 1M outside the US and no global hits. Taylor.

Sales aren't indicative of everything. Beyoncé is actually contributing to something culturally which will be looked back on as something great. Taylor is, well, she's making money and following the grain.

He isn't arguing against that. Yes Taylor was far more successful with sales WW in this past era, no one will deny that. But global doesn't mean to sell more WW, contrary to what ATRL thinks. It actually means to be more geographically spread out.

Selling 1 copy in every country is actually more global than selling say 10 million in the US, Australia, and Canada and 0 in all other countries.

Beyonce is more than just a musician, she's a an artist, a legend, the most respected female artist of this generation, the greatest performer of our time in popular music, the embodiment of a strong beautiful black female who is culturally nurturing a whole movement in that regard.

Some things are about more than money. Taylor can sell more music, but that doesn't mean she's infiltrated society even close to the way Beyonce has.
