Sorry to interrupt, but this weekend I met a guy who moved from northern Poland some years ago and he taught me "Siema ziomek"
He said I could teach you some Polish and I simply said Czesc and he asked how I knew it

I got to use words I already knew like Rozumiem when he explained something

and when I took off my beanie because it was getting stuffy I pointed to my hair and said czarne right and he said yup and at the end I said dzieki/do widzenia when I got off the bus. He lives in this makeshift town mostly for nomads in the desert. They hold concerts there, I've driven past and it's really cool, but my friend who stayed there a while says just don't go alone because if you don't have a car and want to leave you'll be screwed and people smoke weed like crazy
He told me he misses beet stew the most.
