let's just hope they'll continue to seek their way out of the religion. I have family members who were also pretty liberal christians until one day they "found the light" and become very strict religious followers again
this is why I'll never accept the fact someone can say "I'm a liberal ____ *insert Abrahamic religion*" because they basically say they choose to believe ideology that is written and being worshiped by, all the misogyny, homophobia, xenophobia, hate, anti-science, etc. in those books despite cherry-picking what is "true" and which one is "out of context" or "symbolic".
that would be like someone saying they choose to believe nazi ideology, but think Hitler's words about jews or homosexuals are "out of context"... really bitch? really?
