Are we surprised that Camila left, I mean she had difficulties with the other girls and even she didn't feel like she was part of the band, so I can understand why she left.
Why does she need to be "big enough" to have a solo career? Is the point of a solo career not for her to work and release music until she is "big"? Fifth Harmony will never be big. Their "massive fanbase" is an illusion. She's better off working to build her own name instead of wasting time working to build up a group that will never go anywhere.
No, the point of a solo career is that you're (or at least your group is) big enough to be known beyond 2 songs.
Everyone knew Beyoncé, everyone knew Michael, everyone knew Justin, heck everyone knew Zayn before they decided to go solo.
It's a good thing they weren't nominated for a Grammy for Work From Home. That would have been an awkward situation if they did and this still happened.

Would've been an even bigger mess if one of Camila's collabs was nominated against WFH

Where's the logic though?
Did everyone know Mariah before she was a solo artist? What about Madonna? Or Katy Perry? Gaga? Bruno Mars? The Weeknd? Justin Bieber?

Surprised? No, but it's how she just decided to leave. Leaving will be her downfall. It's definitely looking that way.

They will never get a grammy nom' after this debacle. Gettin' a nom' for a boyband or girlband is already a miracle as it is.

You girls
... were these people in groups/bands?
The point being here is that she obviously thinks she's big enough to go solo off of the brand of 5H.
Because else she wouldn't have gone into a group to begin with, but she wanted that push.
