Stargirl
I completely agree about Banks. I'm a proud OBH but The Altar really snatched me, but it got old after literally a week.
If I'm ever going back to a song from it it's probably TTH too.
Oh and I really love your graphics and your write-ups are so nicely written too
Haven't posted here yet so had to say that & the singles segment was really good.

ahh my ****ing fave! Kiss My Feet would have made my list at one point but this one song has been growing on me all year...
I actually had Stargirl in my HMs at one point, but I thought that would be a bit messy. It really is his best song tho, Dalai her power.
Caramel is a bit corny for me. But stan for Corinne!

Nic spektakularnego tbh Love Me In Whatever Way i Lite Weight były spoko, ale sam bym pewnie wybrał coś innego z każdego albumu. Stargirl Interlude Przecież tam jest sporo fajnych piosenek, nawet te o których wspomniałeś są lepsze (między innymi dlatego, że są piosenkami).

To the Hilt was okay. dRuNk isn't among my Mind of Mine faves but still a bop nevertheless
Stargirl Interlude is okay though I think it's a biT overrated. Probably because I'm not a huge fan of interludes aside from a little handful.

Drunk is nice. I like Borderz the most.
"I literally forgot how all the tracks went like the second they ended"- exactly
Stargirl, Love Me In Whatever Way, Caramel, Light Weight - love
I don't really care for JMSN albums as a whole, except for Pricilla, but he does have nice cuts.

10.
Now that I think about it, this is far too high but I praise her so rarely that I'll let her have this one moment. Taking the headache-inducting mess Chartdrop and the bland mess Cheek to Cheek, I didn't think Gaga would ever serve something of actual quality, yet I must admit I kind of dig a good half of Joanne. I love the fan fave John Wayne or Sinner's Prayer (FJM, his power) but it's Just Another Day which I like coming back to the most. It's uplifting, cheerful and never fails to make me smile which is something I adore about music. | 9.
Red Velvet's magnum opus is still their debut mini Ice Cream Cake and no Dumb Dumb is gonna change that. Both The Red and the underrated The Velvet were releases I liked but at the same time, they both lacked that je ne sais quoi which made songs like Automatic or Stupid Cupid amazing. How happy I was when they dropped Sunny Afternoon though. It might be a rehash of their earliest work but it does its job in the best possible way. It's not a mindless rip-off, it takes the formula but gives it a slightly different spin making the listen just as captivating. | 8.
Yes, back in the early 2010s they were that useless emo'd band recording useless emo'd songs, then they became sonically interesting but somehow ended up even more try-hard lyrically. Who You Selling For is definitely a step in the right direction then - it's mature, gimmick-less and feels pretty authentic in a pretty manufactured world of modern rock. I could recommend the entire record but it's The Devil's Back which impressed me the most. An emotional ballad which goes on for over 7 minutes showcases the musicans' talent perfectly. | 7.
The track I mentioned earlier while describing Good Luck. Yeah, I love that song, it's feel-good and catchy but 10 Seconds is just on another level. It uses elements of 80s synthpop in great way (kind of very common among the best pop songs as of lately, isn't it?), making it a sleek, yet instantly catchy track. The language barrier people like to complain about is obviously there but the girls' voices are so warm and soothing that it shouldn't really be a problem. Shame the rest of Good Luck mini isn't as good. |
6.
With my limited knowledge of k-pop, this was my #2 this year, right after Why So Lonely. The singles Lucky One and Monster were obviously very good but I didn't expect this kind of slayage, the deep house-influenced production is truly everything. It reminds me of Disclousure's Settle, undoubtly their finest moment, but it doesn't sound like a cheap rip-off, it's a track which could as well be on Settle and it wouldn't negatively stand out in terms of quality. Just a super cool track, the rest of EX'ACT didn't live up to it but that comes off as no surprise. | 5.
Taking my Good Lava's love into consideration, I thought my favourite Esperanza tracks would be those overblown, experimental compositions, yet the second track which instantly caught my attention was actually one of the most restrained, quiet moments on the record. And even if the "official" version is good, it's the alternate which completely blew everything out of the water. It's less polished which gives it a certain mesmerizing feeling and whew, the things which happen in the second instrumental half... I feel like this is what heaven sounds like? | 4.
I almost wanted to put Store here, it's ridiculous how she makes it work, literally no one else could do it, but yeah, Fever stayed invincible. I love how it starts subtly, you think it'd be a nice little slower number but then turns into a huge pop anthem in that chorus. It's not loud, it's not stadium-ready, in fact it's pretty much the opposite of that, yet it still explodes with such an uplifting energy, even with that "you wanna break my heart, alright". Ah, a legend, if this is b-side material for her, then I can't imagine what CRJ3 will bring. | 3.
The most recent addition and possibly the most shocking for me personally considering my initial reaction to Jessy Lanza's music. When I first heard Oh No, I wasn't exactly... impressed but I decided to give her another chance, like, a week ago and whew, she so unexpectedly and effortlessly slayed me. If I spent more time with it, I'm sure the album would make the albums list but for now I'm taking Never Enough, a track which is amazing production-wise (@ the entire record) but also reminds me a bit of Madonna's debut, and that's always appreciated. | 2.
I kind of slept on Love & Hate as a whole and I'm mad because each time I'm listening to it, a new song reveals itself to me and I love it even more than before. It's a soulful, heartfelt and beautiful album worth all the acclaim it got. I could mention a few tracks as 2016's highlights, however, it's the long, thrilling opener which caught me off guard and always manages to delight me just like it did on my first listen. The instrumental side of it is just crazy, from the stunning, complex intro to the guitar riffs later into the song which intensify Michael's touching vocal performance. | 1.
Even when he's losing, he's winning. Pablo might not be a good record as a whole but if we forgot all of its low lights and just focused on the highs... wow. The Pitchfork certified classique is a predictable choice, indeed, but when a song's this good, there is just no other option. From the excellent use of choir and organ to Chance the Rapper's feature, everything just works here. It's like a child of hip hop and gospel, a child which took all the best features from their parents and managed to develop them into something even more magnificent.. |

Tylko nie Just Another Day Dosłownie najgorsza piosenka z Joanne, które też wyjątkowo wybitne nie było. Tak szczerze to nie jestem wielkim fanem tego setu, ale przynajmniej #1, #3 i #4 są super

"Just Another Day" at #10 - woohoo! I really admire that track - it's so different for Gaga, and despite being slapped on the end as a deluxe edition track, it really feels like the heart and soul of the album to me. Relaxed, chill, and music for pleasure's sake rather than anything else.

Happy to see the JMSN shout out! The title track is really good. Same with Kiss My Feet! That's a definite fan favorite too, though I think my favorite non-single would be Let Me Fall.
Store losing out to Fever But the fact that Fever is also my #2 Wasn't able to get into that Michael album even though I have a friend who really loves it! Ultralight Beam >>>

ahhhh Jessy her power. I've heard a lot of comparisons between Never Enough and Madonna's debut, so I want to like it more than I do but it's actually one of my least favourites on the album. Still a bop tho!
Good top 10 overall, I like all the sings except 6-8 which I haven't heard. I def need to go back to Love and Hate also, Black Man in a White World was such a bop.
