I think Circus was a perfectly executed comeback (except for "Radar"). I think it's good that she kept things pretty surface-level and just delivered the pop that she was known for. The album was released only a few months after her breakdown, so I think it would have been too soon for her to go the introspective, reflective route. Circus was kind of like her Bedtime Stories in that it was designed to repair her image. Femme Fatale, as much as I love it, should have been the Ray of Light that followed her Bedtime Stories; it should have been the reflective, introspective album that chronicled what she had overcome.

If you're around 20 you stan for one of Brit classics. I've yet to see someone irl telling me straight to my face that they did not like BOMT/Oops/Toxic. Starting from Blackout things get a little more shaky, but still I feel most people like Gimme More, either Circus or Womanizer (people rarely like both for some reason), then one of the FF singles often TTWE or IWG. Work Bitch is universally liked, as is S&S.
