Bernie did not speak to the rust belt as convincingly as Trump did. Bernie was still too smart for them. Just look at his last town hall.
There's a reason Hillary won half of the rust belt in the primary. Chances are Trump would have devoured Bernie alive with his own audiences.

His biggest fault with minorities was that he addressed his rallies as a one-policy-fits all. He focused on Wall Street specifically throughout almost all of his rallies and speeches, and would drop in policy issues such as free tuition, $15 minimum wage, etc. He wouldn't read from a teleprompter so these were his go to issues. The issue is that that fails to connect with nonwhite voters because he never really spoke specifically to nonwhite voters that may have entirely different issues. Hillary would go to nonwhite areas and speak about issues that are more prevalent in those communities, Bernie didn't. He simply stuck with his large rallies and his anti-establishment talk without really connecting with what nonwhite communities are worried about.

Bernie's character attacks were always a huge mistake. It was a primary, not a general election. You're not supposed to be dividing people.
Of course, you can argue Trump did the same thing in the primary but difference is that guy ended up as a nominee. I doubt his supporters would have gotten behind Ted Cruz.

this is patently untrue, Bernie has a D- rating from the National Rifle Association
both he and Hillary have very sensible gun control policies, you can't fault either of them for that

for the millionth time Bernie refused to bring up the emails (which ended up being incredibly relevant to how the election played out btw) and he barely went after Hill on her character. it would be crazy to not bring up her poor character when the #1 reason why people said they didn't want to vote for her was that she seemed disingenuous

The NRA lobbied for him and helped him get elected to the Senate. Using his own argument of corruption, then that must have been the reason for voting against the Brady Bill 5 times. Bernie is actually really center on guns. Hillary, by far, was the more progressive candidate on that issue.

Bernie is not far left. The far left loved him and were his base but they also turned a blind eye to his centrist stances on many issues.

If you want far left, look at that loonie Jill and how she used to go in on Bernie during the primary for his "hawk record". She even said at some point that electing him would be a continuation of the world wars. Now that's a far left loonie tunes.

He never went for her character??? So, blatantly saying Hillary was "not qualified" to serve as president because she was too corrupt and lacking in judgment to serve. Or have a surrogate refer to her as a "Democratic Wh***" at a rally. Or claim that the Wall Street speeches were inherent proof of her corruption, though it was a standard fee for speakers under the management she was a part of (now that we've seen the speech transcripts, nothing damning was in them). He attacked her in ways he shouldn't have because, yes, it weakened her for the primaries. Hence why Trump would bring up Bernie's criticisms against her throughout the entire general election.

What? Hillary decimated Bernie on gun control (I believe it was debate right after the Charleston shooting). He came out of that debate looking weak so his campaign team decided to go after Goldman Sachs and Wall Street donations after he refused for months to bring it up. It started to work for him so he kept going, bring up the Clinton Foundation, etc. Everything Trump and Kellyanne threw at her was from Bernie's campaign playbook.

And this is facts. I believe it was Weaver or Devine who confirmed this right after the CA primary.

Like, in the debates, Trump would criticize her for the loophole the Obama administration created in Iraq that led to the rise of ISIS when in fact she was against getting the troops out of Iraq but Obama wouldn't listen to her. She took the blame for anything and everything and she didn't challenge it.

She never once criticized the Obama administration while on the campaign trail.
