I just watched the video again, and I missed the beginning the first time I saw it.....the beginning, up until it goes black & white, is FANTASTIC. It was the start of an awesome video and could have lead to an awesome plot. The transition from PI to this, having her people come and take her away, and her just seeming so unhappy and going through the motions, and then it turns black & white....it perfectly illustrates the emotion of how she felt when she wrote it, and what I've always thought the song was about...when she was depressed and wanted to quit music.
instead, once she sits down and it goes black and white, nothing else happens, other than the spliced Apple Music outtakes which don't visually fit.
The rosary part is nice but I really wanted some more action in between.
Like, the shots that show the behind the scenes/camera filming her commercial, she should have broken down and walked off or something and had some dramatic scenes
Kinda like Bastille's video for Fake It...how they show the politician being all strong and confident on screen, but off screen he's incredibly insecure.
Was expecting an engagement ring and Taylor to be standing behind her. Was NOT expecting a ****ing rosary
