This is one of the more immediate songs on Nothing's Real. It's sooo catchy and it brings you in right from the very start. But it also kind of got old too?
omg my exact thoughts. it was my favorite from my first listen, but it grew old on me
Bridget Jones's Baby: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
peak: 7 weeks: 10 (5 in top ten)
2015: Champagne Kisses - Jessie Ware
Ellie's second best soundtrack song perhaps, though it's probably because she tries to emulate LMLYD here. However, she doesn't do it as derivatively Army, so this song still has its own heart and uniqueness.

maren morris
Hero
peak: 2 weeks: 4 (so far)
2015: The Hanging Tree - James Newton Howard
This was the first song I heard from her. I watched it when she performed on Ellen and in my mind I was thinking: this isn't very country, girl is struggling vocally, and the melody and hooks are pretty neat. So yes, this is a cute country-pop bop that makes you wish Taylor was still doing such music.

This Is Acting
peak: 7 weeks: 12 (3 in top ten)
2015: Fight Song - Rachel Platten
Another Sean Paul feature! I didn't think this would smash the way it did, but it's good that it did I guess. It's a tad minimalistic for a bop but somehow it works.

keeping your head up
birdy
Beautiful Lies
peak: 15 weeks: 13
2015: Sparks - Hilary Duff
Quite a change in pace for her I guess, with the upbeat tone and the multi-layered chorus. I guess it's a good way to gain attention by smashing on the charts (which it didn't anyway). But yeah, cute song.

The Altar
peak: 3 weeks: 12 (5 in top ten)
2015: Flesh Without Blood - Grimes
Wayyyy better than Better. I was hoping for the song to suddenly go hard in the bridge, but it doesn't and it bummed me out a lot at the beginning. But over time, it's Banks' swagger and attitude and makes this song a winner.

never forget you

Single
peak: 6 weeks: 12 (5 in top ten)
2015: Moments - Tove Lo
Quite a typical UK house/drum and bass song. The thing that really makes the song is Zara's strong voice. The last chorus where they both belt (albeit tragically for the dude) is worth listening the whole song for.

ugh!

I Like It When You Sleep For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It
peak: 2 weeks: 11 (6 in top ten)
2015: Smoke Break - Carrie Underwood
Such a perfect little ditty. The band once again jams a whole load of phrases and big words, hoping that they'll stick to form something intellectual. It may or may not have worked, but it does create a fun song, especially when he's spitting the words in the chorus.
53
make me... (feat. g-eazy)
britney spears
Glory
peak: 2 weeks: 15 (5 in top ten)
2015: She Used to Be Mine - Sara Bareilles
Initially, I was slayed by this. It sounded like a song that Britney really needed to revive her career artistically by ditching the four-on-the-floor club beats for a more melodic and organically sexier sound. However, the song kind of got old too. Maybe G-Eazy needs to G-TFO.

Piece By Piece
peak: 5 weeks: 15 (6 in top ten)
2015: Work Song - Hozier
This is probably the only place where the original for this song is charting, not the Idol version. Though the production might be a bit monotonous, I was still slayed by this as and the lyrics still shine despite the production. The Idol version is a tearjerker, but I love me some drums still.

too good (feat. rihanna)
drake
Views
peak: 8 weeks: 12 (4 in top ten)
2015: Afterlife - Ingrid Michaelson
I like how Drake has the milder, more emotional Aubrih collabs whereas Rih leads the more boppy ones. Would be nice if they switched for once?
Still Falling for You is good, should've been bigger I can agree with it being her 2nd best soundtrack single
Piece By Piece + **** with Myself Cheap Thrills solo/album version >>>>>>, that's all I'll say.
Never Forget You, Make Me... and Too Good are all solid, enjoyable collabs
90% of these plays are from Heartbeat. Her singles are still cute.

Did you have to do this? I was thinking that you could be trusted. Did you have to ruin what was shiny? Now it's all rusted. Did you have to me hit me where I'm weak? Baby I couldn't breathe.

I've never listened to this music before, but I gave Care a try and was half disappointed and half impressed? The quality was quite middling.

2015: Passion Pit
Prior to Heads Up, I listened to one song of their and was bored to death. But New Song captured my attention and got me into their album a bit.
Love Katy but Rise wasn't a good song so I paid ha dust this year. Really nothing good I can say about it.
Ready for Fergie's album, I know plenty are already over this "era" but she's 3/3 for me (including Hungry.)
