I've seen a lot of comments about artists deserving of success because they have talent and the whole package. But does having the whole package translate to commercial success? The only person I can think of, that has the whole package and the commercial success to back it up(in the streaming era) is my fave Rihanna

Whole package = can sing, dance and perform well. A triple threat.

It also raises some other interesting questions. Does having the 'whole package' mean they have star power? Is star power different to selling power? If they are considered to be different, I think Rihanna has both personally

Rihanna doesn't have the whole package though.
She's a subpar singer and an even subpar dancer.
I lover her but she definitely ain't what I'd consider "the whole package".

ANTI proved that Rihanna is an excellent vocalist, she can dance well and her performances continue to receive praise. It's almost 2017 and people are still trying to downplay Rihanna's vocals Rihanna has range, tone and everything I could want in a pop girl

I don't even think there is a pop girl with the "whole package".
They all lack something (some more than others).
It honestly doesn't matter how talented one is, if they can't relate to the public or churn out some hits then nobody cares about their "talent", sadly (see Tori Kelly).

Shut up, she is a great singer and her dancing and stage presence improved on the last tours. She may not be doing hard choreographies, but she is doing all the cool moves young people are into


Anyway yeah, the whole package =/= success. For success you must not only have talent and looks, you must have charisma, good music and public interest.
If your music is **** or basic you're usually not gonna make it based of the other things.

Can we please post videos from the ANTi tour of Rihanna's less than impressive vocals? Or the videos where she just stands there and smiles as the entire song plays in the background?
