And mess at any of you all saying she was snubbed in the SOTY category
She submitted Work like.. we should be thankful it even got nominated for ROTY with Work(which we should be thankful for because there are far better songs that could have been nominated instead).
The only snubs are ANTI and TIWYCF and i'm not even mad since she got 8 noms during this messy era
Bull****ingshit. I thought Rih was going to be the most nominated thanks to TIWYCF but she was snubbed with that AND AOTY/SOTY. lol Not surprising at all. Beyonce def had a hand in this. Maybe Kanye's rant about Bey basically buying the VOTY with a performance at the VMAs had some truth to it.
Beyonce has always been underhanded when it came to these things and especially towards other black, female artists

Like I don't get it.. Some of y'all starting to sound real unappreciative. Be humble Rihannas had an amazing year and turned "460" into a successful era when everyone was counting her out.
The fact that Work which was such a polarizing song for its Patois even made it in general field is good enough.
BTW... bey winning AOTY does not make it more likely they will "give" Urban/Contemporary to Rih. It's the opposite in fact. They don't share awards for sympathy lol. It's a straight out vote

Yes but the people who vote are human beings and it's likely they will want to reward as many people as possible, if they believe in their work.
Wasn't pharrel winning the Grammy for urban contemporary a sign that beys self-titled wasn't gonna win AOTY. (I don't know if that was an isolated event for that year only but...the same could happen this year. If bey is gonna win AOTY then she'll probably win urban contemp as well. Vice versa if she loses AOTY then Anti has a chance to win it.

Exactly! Voters cannot somehow collaborate to give a comparatively minor award to Rih just because Bey is (potentially) taking home AOTY.

True.... Bey didn't get ROTY and SOTY that year for self-titled (pharrell was) so in hindsight her lost for urban contemp and AOTY was understandable. So logistically, bey's odds are higher for winning urban contemp than rih this year since she has formation for both ROTY and SOTY.
On the other hand, there's always that possibility that they might split it and give urban contemp to rih (personally I think this is unlikely) but like you said who tf knows... She already has one anyway
I'm so proud that her success comes so organically. She went from 0 nominations last year to 8 this year. (A literal metaphor of her life and career) She didn't need any media driven narratives (this vs that) to fuel any pressure of being nominated. She's just somebody you naturally root for. Her success is coming so organically thru the growth and quality of her music and from the approval of the general public themselves (proof: just look at her hot 100 stats), there was none of this critic's bias to reward someone just because of their name although even she made them change their mind organically overtime (which was so entertaining itself to watch).... theres no greater sense of satisfaction when watching this all unfold right before my own (and hopefully the navy's as well) very eyes.....
