I'm still reeling in shock over VIEWS and PURPOSE being nommed for album of the year. And then grammys think their slick adding Sturgill Simpson would shut the hipsters up. Nope. You done WRONG Grammys. very wrong. Blackstar and AMSP were the best albums released this year. And you nominate VIEWS AND PURPOSE? I will be bitching about this all year now.
Oh and why is Enya nominated for Best New Age album when Enya is CATHOLIC? I just cant with you all. enya said herself her music genre is 'enya' not new age.
Beyond disgusted. now I see that the grammies truly are just for money and to give each other pats on the back. Well good JOB.
What does the new age genre have to do with Religion?
I think it's kinda weird how there are like always the same names nominated, but there are so many pop artists who aren't that famous or don't sell so many records, however, this doesn't mean their music is worse.
I can't take the Grammies seriously.
Seems like when you're well known the chances of getting a nom are sooo much higher.
"Ain't Your Mama" was a global force, and even went diamond overseas.
This song dominated streaming and took airwaves by storm, it's also a perfect pop song.
Still no SOTY or ROTY noms???
JLO was snubbed, and no one is defending her, but if it was Beyoncé, no one would tolerate it.
Ain't Your Mama was a forgettable passover hit. Streaming force? No. I live overseas in Ireland/UK and this song really was a passover, forgettable hit. I forgot it existed. Comparing that trash song to Beyonce is insulting. No one is defending JLO because it was one of the worst songs of 2016, and she 100% did not deserve a grammy nomination. Let alone being nominated in one of the main categories Going diamond overseas? Girl going Diamond in Malta selling 100 copies doesn't count. I have no idea in which country it went Diamond, it certainly wasn't any of the main music markets.
Bey even got a nom in the Rock category this year. I mean... That's a clear sign that all the different sects of the Grammy voters are rooting for her. AOTY for Bey very likely!
I was thinking this as well, but I won't get my hopes up. It deserves AOTY, though.
So? The song had major impact and it's connected to one of the most-acclaimed albums of the year.

Let's pour salt in the wound a bit: a song that was FREE for months is nominated for ROTY and SOTY... after y'all laughed at the bubbling under position.
