It's a sad fact that white mediocrity regularly trumps black excellence when it comes to award shows. And there really isn't anything more mediocre than 1989.

Kendrick wasn't that popular though. He had the BLM metacritic privilege but not many people knew about him or his alberm. Lemonade flopped too but she has certainly more hype than he had.
