I figured, but he said his More Life 'playlist' is in conjuction with Apple. I think that partnership is far from over. There's probably a backhanded reason why he's calling it a 'playlist'.

No. It's a Spotify-curated playlist.

There are some "playlist companies" (like Filtr) which have popular playlists -- though not as popular as Spotify's own -- and are disguised so as not to look like label-made playlists but they're actually owned by labels.

I thought BB would reweigh the metrics at the start of the 2017 CY, as that would've made the most sense. But BB waited until I think February last year to change the formula. Hopefully BB will reallocate the streaming and sales metrics so that only one metric (and very few genres) dominate the Hot 100.

Maybe BB is afraid to strengthen sales before the after Christmas boost in order to avoid skewing the chart in the opposite direction. I think 1k sales=15k streams would be a start. Although, based on what happened through 2016, maybe 1k sales=20k streams would work better. Even with the latter ratio, we'd still have streaming at 50% again by the end of the 2017 CY.

I'm not talking about reweighing anything. I'm talking about how much urban songs are crowding the top of the charts. That means the Spotify demographic is listening to more urban. I want that trend to change. But I think it's going to take a while.

What are you even saying? People are choosing to listen to these songs - forget a "payola" playlist. Spotify has always had a more urban/rock/EDM demographic. No one's being "made" to lean towards a genre. Everyone's favorite white pop girl will never truly capture their audience ('cept for Katheryn). This is what the white kids are deciding to stream (over on Apple Music as well).

What is this comment. How is it a tragedy that people are listening to urban music? Streaming, unlike radio, is free range. You can listen to whatever you want. Sorry people are listening to black artists. Or are you just mad that the basic pop girls ATRL stans are flopping?
