25 winning over Lemonade would just be bs and everyone knows it. It's nowhere close to being in the top 5 best released albums of the tracking period and is purely selling off Adele's name alone. It's going to be Bowie or some other dark horse that snatches. But if Adele does...well yeah, expect mess.

Its my opinion that 25 is nothing special and shouldn't be rewarded because it sold millions off of Adele's name and 21's success. You don't have to agree and being a Bey stan has nothing to do with it. There are artists who released better albums, who I don't use, ANTI being an example, that would deserve it over 25 as well.

I'm not saying this just as a Bey stan, I'm being real. I have no problem with Adele. But people need to be ****ing honest. 25 shouldn't be winning AOTY, period. There are far better mainstream/indie albums released that should be rewarded. Lemonade just happens to be one of them. And Bey just happens to be my fave. It is what it is.

While you're right in the sense that 25 isn't anywhere near being the best album released in that time period, it's unrealistic to expect the Grammys to disregard commercial success completely and only award based on quality. It's the base of their foundation but it's definitely not what happens in reality so yes, 5 is a HUGE contender for AOTY (and imo Hello has ROTY and SOTY in the bag).

I doubt it too, but that guy from HDD kept on bringing her up like this was HER year (though I don't see that either - Adele, Rihanna, and Beyoncé definitely had their feet on her neck in just about every facet of success)...

The thing is, Adele can put out the exact same piano ballad album over and over and still be a frontrunner because of her commercial success (basically every single voter owns the album) while the people pushing the envelope are left out.

I agree about SOTY being much more likely. But what exactly are the stats that your talking about I'm curious.
