I think collectively the first look was seen as a basic interpretation of the theme (and card I got) which I agree with! I think Drip said it best that even though it was a SAFE (
) look I could have given the complete look less finesse. For instance; torn up dress, less prim princess hair, etc...
The second look is definitely serving a Metroid: Other M metacritic tea. I included the picture reference because I thought that would be a point where half the panel would look at the complete look and think "...wut is dat?" and drag me for it. I have to also disagree with TOO here with regards to my second look. The "trying to relate a look to yet another video game character." comment isn't making sense to me in this instance. It's not like I went "OH, ANOTHER RUNWAY. I HAVE TO DO SOMETHING GAMING RELATED BECAUSE I SAID GAMING WAS MY SHTICK." It was a Tarot Ball which includes Arcana, and Arcana relates to the Persona series so it was a natural choice for me. If you don't like it, I get it. It does read as Katya's more lesbian cousin without context but I'm not forcing/trying to ALWAYS do something gaming-related. Exclude the while-performing Lip-Sync challenge looks and 7/11 looks of mine aren't gaming related.
Carrie's comments are a different issue to tackle but lemme try. The cohesion remark I think needs a bit more fleshing out. Regardless if you think the looks are terrible or not, I think it's clear how they (and their descriptions) correlate to the theme and tarot card receptively. Do you mean all 3 aren't, as a whole, cohesive together? or something else? Then there is the "Who are you Nina?" comment. I just came into this with admittedly a stolen moniker but a willingness to try whatever challenge is given to me. I'm not some 'character' with a ton of defined traits I'm going always going to commit to. I said gaming-inspired queen in my application I believe but I also said I don't want to be pigeon-holed into some archetypal caricature.
As for my last look I honestly didn't know Elle had used this for her season until after it was pointed out. I think since this was re-do of someone else's looks it was inevitably going to be marked down. This one is all on me since I went through about 5 completed looks before I settled on the Elle dress.
Truly the Pearl of ADR, sleepwalking and doing well at expense of others!
