She's not disingenuous, it's just the way that people are used to perceiving third party candidates as somewhat fringe and deluded makes them presume that of, for example, her actions. Her website is fairly detailed enough regarding this. She has publicly said that the goal isn't to elect Hillary, just to expose unnecessary complications and etc of our voting system so that we can reform it.
And while we are on the subject of Castro, consider how he was praised by Nelson Mandela.... Nationality influences perception (I'm not arguing for or against Castro, it is however important for Americans to recognize the significant amount of government propaganda contra Cuba and Castro that has been put to the public for decades).
