She used a snapchat filter with Japanese Confederate flag, the one that looks like a rising sun. It was used by Imperial Japan during 19th-20th centuries.
Basically the asian equivalent of swastika and other nazi symbols, it's linked to
comfort women, Maruta (a program of experimentation on human beings by the Imperial Army), and the Nanking Massacre.
Although the scandal grew to be too big it was still dumb of her to use the filter without recognizing the Imperial Flag that South Korea hates with all its heart and soul. It's like if Taylor posted a snapchat with swastika on it, with the text "Berlin!". Maybe even worse, tbh.
