I like Joanne as an album but i'm just now coming to terms that Gaga will never be Gaga again. She will never be that crazy, super star, media buzzing person that she was again. She won't give me the music videos w/ amazing plots, art, choreo... She won't deliver an album full of religious, dark, dance-pop anthems

It's not that I don't like gaga or joanne, it's just that she went from the most interesting pop star on the planet in the last 20+ years to normal and it's a hard pill to swallow

Honestly, I don't blame her. People and critics gave her so much **** in the past + breaking up with Taylor + her chronic pain. I wonder how many times she thought about giving up on everything.

It wouldn't be so bad if she didn't act like a soccer mom all the time nowadays. Like she completely lost her cool factor and she used to be the coolest thing around just 6 years ago... Seeing her at the AMAs, her tweets, it's like she wants to be the younger generation's cool mom or something

Girl Gaga has an old soul. She ages herself a lot and there is nothing we can do about that lol. it's just a part of her personality now.

I feel like a big part about why so many Monsters are a little pissed at how different Gaga's personality is now a days has to do with the fact that she debuted in her mid twenties (like 24 right?). Artists change so much from their mid twenties to late twenties and early thrities. Most artists debut way earlier and stay the same from like 18 to 25 ish. so you have so many years of them being the same...they change later on as well but you get a lot of years of them being consistent personality wise. Where as with Gaga you only had a few years of her being the way she was when she debuted.

I personally started stanning her during Artpop so I love this type of Gaga lol

Gaga doesn't want to be both. She wants to be a more 'mature' artist (whatever that means) but her fans want her to 'be Beyoncé'. It's pretty clear she's only doing popstar-ish things to satisfy the twinks clinging along hoping she goes back to dance-pop, but whatever.

Part of me feels like this extended serene/sedated era of simple boring performances and visuals is necessary in order for Gaga to truly be able to shock again. Kind of priming people to be numb to shock value again in order to come back her next era with crazy performances. But then part of me feels like Joanne is the kind of musician she wants to be from now on. Idk
